April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players who achieve this feat. Alix Kallineman is set to compete alongside April Ross in Tokyo in order to claim her third gold in the next couple of days. More than that though Ross wants to secure the first Olympic gold. As she is 39, this could be her last opportunity to accomplish this. Still confident and confident, but. If we can perform to our highest or even play well I feel like we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going attempt to get chance. Ross, who was born 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her sisters and parents, was the first to begin participating in sports in Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. In addition to indoor volleyball, she took part in basketball and jogged track as an amateur athlete. She clearly was the top when it came to indoor volleyball. Through her high school years, she was a middle blocker, outside setter and hitter on a volleyball court as per her school bio. Her achievements were acknowledged with her selection as the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. She also won her the Orange County Athlete of the Award in the year 2000. While Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight from 2017 onward, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene even before the pair formed. The American has been a major winner in competitions with a variety of partners. A couple of those has become an icon of the world of volleyball. Her partnership was with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was a force in the international scene, winning an international title in 2009. The two eventually clinched gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They were knocked out of the gold by the legendary duo comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. The two went on get bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross played in the NCAA tournament with the Trojans of USC prior to her pro career. She played at high school and even years prior to going to the beach for professional. Her time in the Trojans' ranks was a memorable one. As a freshman in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also was an All-American. She also helped her Trojans in reaching the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she was devastated by a personal tragedy, yet managed to be a second All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans on a climb and won consecutive national titles. She was a superb volleyball player. She won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross took a course in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the chance to watch her daughter become the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was still an USC sophomore. It was discovered that she had breast cancer. Ross holds her mother very dearly. Margie has always been a source of inspiration for her in and out on the beach.
