Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder professional Winona Ryder, was born in Winona Minnesota. The name she was given by her parents in honor of the town in which her birthplace was. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish origin. There are two younger half siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. At the age of seven, Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved to Mendocino County California. They had no electricity. Ryder became an avid book reader because there was no television. Ryder was 12 when she enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. In 1986, she was offered her first film role the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied at her high school. She hoped that she would be able to end this. However, unfortunately, it was not to be. Still she continued pursuing her dreams. Her breakthrough came in 1988 through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her part on The Age of Innocence (1993).
